Welcome to The Librarian Connection! We are a resource for librarians & colleagues that work in school libraries in the Inland Empire.
Dear Fellow Librarians,
The idea for this website came about last year when I realized there was an immense need for a platform where we could share information that would aid us in our jobs as Library Media Assistants. As a new librarian to the district last year, I had a lot of questions regarding various aspects of school library policy and procedures, and turned to my peers. When the responses in my email became excessive, I thought that a more effective way to communicate should be established.
The Librarian Connection was then created with a mission of sharing best practices as well as learning moments, all while adding to the pool of collective library knowledge among coworkers. As a result, our contributions and sharing of information will assist us in providing excellent service to students and staff in the district, which is the heart of librarianship.
This website is a work in progress and will be adjusted as our needs change. Ideas for topics that would be good for discussion include handling obsolete textbooks, equipment recommendations, grant funding opportunities, weeding practices, Destiny Library Manager tips and tricks, and promoting a love of reading to students and staff. As you explore the site and think of topics that interest you, feel free to post a new thread in the discussion board.
I hope you find this site informative and inspirational. If you have any comments or suggestions about The Librarian Connection, please contact me.
